Evelyn Bongers

Evelyn Bongers - Age 93, died on Feb. 27, 2021. She was born in Little Chute on May 18, 1927, the daughter of John and Agnes VandenHeuvel. She attended the schools in Little Chute and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. On Aug. 21, 1948, she was married to Joseph L. Bongers. They made their home in Kaukauna where they raised their three daughters: Mary Carla Hansen (Mark Napholz) of Venice, Fla.; Melissa (Ronald) Feldman of Little Suamico and their family – Nick and Holly Feldman; and Elizabeth (Rick) Verhagen and their children – Michaela and Mitchell Pisinger and Grant and Tate Verhagen. On March 12, 2017, Evelyn married Eugene Sousek. Gene’s daughter Holly (Aaron) Kiesau and family also survive. Evelyn requested a private farewell at St. John Cemetery in Little Chute, where she will join Joe at eternal rest. Memorials have been set up for the Carmelite Monestary in Iron Mountain, Mich., the 1000 islands Environmental Center in Kaukauna and Xavier High School.
