Richard J. Schevers “Dick” - Kaukauna - Age 77, passed away peacefully after complications from Parkinson’s on Nov. 23, 2021. He was born on Feb. 25, 1944, son of the late Gerard Sr. and Elizabeth (Kreuser) Schevers. Dick attended St. Joseph Grade School in Oneida before graduating from Premontre High School in Green Bay with the Class of 1962. He then proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1964-1968. He was a member of the Little Chute American Legion and the Kaukauna VFW serving as Vice Commander and Commander. On May 18, 1974, Dick married Donna DeMunck and together have shared 47 years of marriage. He worked as a police officer for the Outagamie County Sherriff’s Department, where he worked for 29+ years and retired as a detective sergeant/investigator. After retiring from the county, Dick went on to work at the Grand Chute Police Department as an evidence custodian. Over the years, Dick also served the Village of Little Chute as a board member as well as on the police and fire commission and planning commission, until he was unable to do so. Dick enjoyed working in his yard. He kept his lawn immaculate and also loved working in the garden and canned anything that was ripe. Dick loved traveling with his family and attending Packer games as a season ticket holder since 1988. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic church in Kaukauna. Dick is survived by his loving wife: Donna; children: Anthony Schevers and Kathryn (Todd) Marks; siblings: Gerard Jr. (Lynn) Schevers, John Schevers, Mary (David) Sobieck, Carol (Dan) O’Rourke and Terry (Dave) Robinson; in-laws: Barb Schevers and Roy DeMunck; special friends: Rick and Karen Verhagen and family and cousin: Dottie; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents: Gerard and Elizabeth Schevers; siblings: Tom Schevers and Elizabeth Tangen; father and mother-in-law: Peter and Florence DeMunck and a brother-in-law: William (Mary Lou) DeMunck. Memorial services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 3, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Don Everts officiating.
