Carol Minkebige

Carol Minkebige nee Schultze - Age 84, passed away on Wednesday evening, Dec. 8, 2021, peacefully, with her beloved family at her bedside. Carol was born May 3, 1937, to the late Dewey and Esther (Mueller) Schultze. On April 4, 1954, Carol married Jim Minkebige at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. Jim and Carol lived in Kaukauna their entire lives, where they owned and operated the Bowling Bar for 38 years until their retirement in 2007. They were long-time members of the Fox Valley Golf Club where Carol belonged to the lady's golf league for over 50 years. Carol also belonged to the woman's bowling league while subbing on many leagues. She met many wonderful friends through her life and enjoyed many jokes, stories, and going to tournaments. Carol was a cherished and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and matriarch of her family. She loved Sunday dinners with her family and planning all holiday meals with her beloved daughter Holly. Carol is survived by her son: Mike Minkebige and his children: Caroline (Logan) Pirkola and their children: Lukas and Nick of Appleton; Robert (Carissa) Minkebige of Madison; daughter: Holly (finance Kurt Johnson) of Kaukauna; and son: David (Debbie) Lake Orion, Mich., and their son: Matt (Erica) and their children: Taylor, Cole, and Madelyn of Madison. Carol is also survived by sisters-in-law: Patti Bosin and Ethel Schultze; a brother-in-law: Harold Gensler, as well as many nieces and nephews. Daughter-in-law: Michele Minkebige and special dear friends: Mary Jane Leick and Dolly Fassbender were always there to play cards with, go to lunch with, and have fun with, as well as lifetime friend Mary and Russel Keberlein family. Carol was preceded in death by her husband: Jim, his mother and father: Robert and Mable Minkebige, her mother and father: Dewey and Esther Schultze, her brother: Louis Schultze, her sister: Shirley Gensler, and brother-in-law: Roger Bosin. Carol and family would like to thank her wonderful neighbors: Lutz and Darlene Stumpf, John Stumpf, Mikayla Stumpf, and Bruce and Irene George. They were all good friends who helped with the yard and any other chores in Carol's later years. A memorial service for Carol will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna, with Rev. Lynn Martin officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
