Mary Van Dyn Hoven

Mary Alice Van Dyn Hoven - Freedom - Age 78, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family while visiting Florida on Feb. 8, 2022. She was born on Aug. 1, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Ambrosius) Daul. She married Dan “Digger” Van Dyn Hoven on May 1, 1965. Mary and Digger owned and operated Van Dyn Hoven Studio for many years. She was able to capture so many wonderful moments for families all around the Valley. She enjoyed taking pictures as if they were her own family. Mary always made sure her guests felt welcome and that they never left hungry. She accepted all of her grandchildren’s friends as her own. Mary loved spending time at the cottage on Surprise Lake. So many great memories were made on the water with her family and friends. Mary and Digger were also able to enjoy 27 years of friendships in Florida during the winter months. Mary’s caring and loving personality will be truly missed. Mary is survived by her husband of almost 57 years: Digger; sons: Rick Van Dyn Hoven and Ross (Paula) Van Dyn Hoven; grandchildren: Bill (Jenn), Dan, Julie, Hank (fiance, Ali) and Chad Van Dyn Hoven; sisters: Jan (Glenn) Sell and Kristy (Mike) Woulf; in-laws: Floyd Van Camp, Pat Brault, Al Van Dyn Hoven, Alicia Van Dyn Hoven and Arlene Van Dyn Hoven; dear friends: Phil and Louise Austin and Beaver and Vionne Greiner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law: Henry and Florence Van Dyn Hoven; sisters: Joan Van Camp and Kathy Brault; in-laws: Bob, Cecilia, Ray (Margaret Ann), Ken and Carl Van Dyn Hoven.
