Little Chute Village Board awards bid for rail crossing quiet zone work


Tom Collins photo — The sound of train whistles will continue to be heard along the rail corridor through Little Chute for just awhile longer. Budget conditions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic convinced the village board to hold off expending money for the project in 2020 but they have now approved a bid to do work at six locations.
A pair of St. Patrick’s Day afternoon bid openings may be the first lucky step forward in construction work for Little Chute’s goal of attaining a railroad quiet zone.
