Kaukauna school board keeps statue in place, working on adding signage

TLC Sign illustration — Kaukauna Area School District administrators came up with this idea to add signage to the front of Kaukauna High School to help explain the school’s galloping ghost mascot and statue in front of the school. With a proposed price tag of almost $53,000, the board of education asked administrators to revise the plan and approved a motion allowing only $25,000 in district funds to be spent on the project.

The statue stays in place and there will be signage added to help explain the history of the galloping ghost, with the district expending no more than $25,000 for the signage.
That was the decision of the Kaukauna school board at last week’s meeting.
