Dennis Merbach

Darboy

Dennis Merbach- Darboy, Age 76, born July 1946, died December of 2022, at Theda Care Hospital. He was adopted by Walter F. Merbach and the former Harriett De Bruin, as an infant. They farmed in Calumet County outside Hilbert and on highways 10 and 55. Dennis worked at Apvion (Appleton Papers) over 40 years. He married “Georgie” Trittin in 1995, and is survived by her as well as his step-son Bob Trittin of Kaukauna. Dennis had a love of spectator racing at WIR in his early years, and later could be spotted in the stands, until his leukemia made it impossible for him to step down to the top-level-of-chairs. He had many Apvion, WIR, Calumet County farming, as well as Darboy and Chilton friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal aunts: Jeanette Wildenberg, Bernice Schmalz, Irma Johnson, Bernice DeBruin and Hattie DeBruin and all aunts with whom he maintained lifetime ties; also step-sons: David and Larry Trittin. Friends are welcome to contact “Georgie,” to chat or share as Dennis wanted cremation, and really pushed for nothing else … like an obituary. As a tribute to Dennis, he’d love it if you: watched a race (TV or I.R.), watched The Voice, the CSIs, or late-nite talk-shows and thought of him while you watch. Special cousins were the Johnsons, of whom Mary Vite remains, along with ALL of his cousins who he did attempt to maintain contact over the years.
