Doris George

Kaukauna

Doris R. George Kaukauna - Age 90, died with her family at her side on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. She was born in Appleton on June 20, 1932, to the late Joseph and Isabel (Wallace) Stumpf. Doris married Roger A. “Boots” George on Sept. 4, 1958, at Holy Angels Parish in Darboy. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2020, after 61 years of marriage. Doris worked for the Kaukauna Public School System for 25 years. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, embroidery, and quilting. She was also the family historian and was very involved at her parish. Doris was known to be incredibly organized and detail oriented.  Doris is survived by her children: Mark (Nancy) George of Sagola, Mich.; Karen (Dave) Mulry of Combined Locks; Janice McCarty of Kaukauna; son-in-law: Paul McCarty; grandchildren: Travis (Nicole) George, Steven (Julia) George, Daniel (Tressa) George, Murphy (Lisa) McCarty, Fiona (Brandon) Lange, Delaney McCarty (friend Aaron), and Shamus McCarty; great-grandchildren: Zander, Millie, Gianna, Roslyn, Leda, Lainey, Mace, Marnie, Nellie, and Lucca, and was looking forward to a great grandson due in July. Doris is further survived by her siblings: Patrick Stumpf, Ellen Lamers, Kathleen Stumpf, Paul (Ruth) Stumpf, Thomas Stumpf, Joseph Jr. (Joan) Stumpf, and John Stumpf; her brother-in-law: Donald George; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband: Roger, Doris was preceded in death by her grandson: Tyler; parents-in-law: Lester and Jennie (Voss) George; siblings: Sister M. Bridget Stumpf, Eugene (Casilda) Stumpf, Harvey (Theresa, Shirley) Stumpf, Phyllis Stumpf, and Alice Parker; and siblings-in-law: Herman Lamers, Ann Stumpf, Lynn Stumpf, David (Jane) George and Dorothy George.  Visitation will be held Friday, May 5, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of Mass at noon at Holy Cross Parish (309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna) with Doris’ nephew, the Rev.
