"Kert"

Kerwin T. Ulwelling - “Kert” Kimberly - Age 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by family at his side. Kerwin was born on Feb. 19, 1929, to the late Andrew and Elisabeth (Reily) Ulwelling and grew up the second oldest of four children in West Allis, Wis. On June 16, 1956, Kert married the love of his life, Mary Eileen Von Gries, in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Together they shared over 66 years of a wonderful marriage and proudly raised three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kert enjoyed swimming, bowling, golfing, getting together with family and Sunday night calls from the west coast. He was a fan of the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, Golden Eagles and mostly whatever activities his grandchildren were involved in.  Kert served in the U.S. Army in 1952 through 1953. After returning, he enjoyed a career in the telephone industry eventually retiring from (Ma Bell) AT&T. Kert will be deeply missed by his wife: Mary Eileen; his children: Steve (Maureen) Ulwelling, Mike (Nicole) Ulwelling, and Kathy Runge; his grandchildren: Jon (fiancé Kaitlyn), Ben (Jess), Eric (Hannah), Lauren and Jack; and his great-grandchildren: Lena, Harrison, and Tommy. Kert is further survived by his brother: George Ulwelling; his sister: Kathy (Carl) Sincere; and many nieces and nephews. Kert was preceded in death by his brother: Jim Ulwelling. Many thanks to the friends and neighbors of Kert, as he appreciated your help. Special thanks to Theda Care at Home Hospice for all that was done in Kert’s last few days.
