Gary David Specht - Age 62, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Kaukauna, Gary (AKA Myron) left only for a few years to live in North Carolina to be close to his daughter's family before returning to Kaukauna. His memory is cemented in the multitude of Fox Valley residents' and businesses' driveways, yards, and concrete projects he completed while with Dan Verbeten Construction and his own business, Specht Contrete. An avid Packer fan, Gary also enjoyed hunting and helping friends and family with special home projects, working on multiple cottages - a skill he picked up as a teen when he helped build the family cottage in Northern Wisconsin. But his favorite joy was the role of "Papa Beep Beep" to his greatest legacy, his beloved grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by his father: David Specht. He is survived by his daughter: Vicki (Steve) Boon; grandchildren: William, Caleb, Amelia, and Caroline Boon; mother: Marcia Specht; and siblings: Mark (Beth) Specht, Marlene (Mike) Vanden Heuvel, and Cindy Specht. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, at 4 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 124 W. Tenth St., Kaukauna. Friends will be received at the church immediately following the service. His family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you for all the well wishes, kindness, and support you've shown Gary, especially this past year. In lieu of flowers or if so moved donations can be made in Gary's honor to the Spierings Cancer Foundation at SpieringsCancerFoundation.org
