Patricia A. Bowers - Greenleaf - With heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Patricia Bowers, age 88, at her home on Friday, June 30, 2023, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born on Nov. 11, 1934, in the town of Buchanan, daughter of the late Howard and Mabel (Huss) Verbeten. Patricia was a graduate of Freedom High School. On August 23, 1955 Patricia married the love of her life, Roger Bowers. Their union was blessed with seven children and 63 wonderful years until Roger preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2018. In addition to raising her family, Patricia and her husband Roger worked side by side to build Roger Bowers and Sons Construction into the success it is today. She loved time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Patricia loved shopping, never passing up a chance to buy another pair of pajamas. She enjoyed travels with friends and family. The most recent and memorable was the trip with her seven children at her home in Kissimmee, Fla. last October. She loved dogs, and looked forward to her daily visit from Junior’s dog. Getting snuggles and hugs from his dog always brought a smile to her face, especially during the last days. She is survived by her children: Mary Jo (Dan) Ashauer of Lac du Flambeau, Kathy (Don) Dorn of Kaukauna, Chris (John) Kerscher of Kaukauna, Fred Bowers of Kaukauna, Julie (Scott) Skalmusky of Kaukauna, Joan (Mark) Klister of Greenleaf, and daughter-in-law: Bernadette Bowers of Greenleaf. Patricia’s grandchildren are: Jenny (Terry) Faccio, Adam Dorn, Ryan (Jolene) Dorn, J.J. (Heidi Schaefer) Kerscher, Jr., Heather (Nick) VandeBurgt, Brandon Bowers, Dylan Bowers, Jake (Hannah) Skalmusky, Cody (special friend Angela) Skalmusky, Ethan (Chelsea) Klister, Austin (Gerilynn Weyers) Klister, Brittany (special friend Trevor) Bowers, and McKayla (special friend Dylan) Bowers. Her step-grandchildren include: Tina Ashauer, Greg (Tammy) Ashauer, Sheri (Brian) Julien, Crystal (Chang) Guerts, Kevin (Rachel) Welhouse, Tyler Foster, and Sean Foster. Her great-grandchildren include: Tyler, Noah, Lily, Hunter, J.T., Greyson, Colton, Tyson, Kingston, Rayne, Ryder, Myla, Kynlee, Carson, Jett, Lily, and one on the way. There are also several additional step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Dan (Marge) Verbeten; sisters-in-law: Judy Bowers, Donna Doolittle, Leta Verbeten. In addition to her parents and her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her son: Roger Jr., siblings: Jim Verbeten and Judy Young; sister-in-law, Rosella Verbeten; brothers-in-law: Carl Bowers, Dave Doolittle; step-grandson: Brad Foster. The Funeral Mass for Patricia was held July 6 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Fr. Luke Ferris officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established. The family would like to thank Dr. Awe and her staff at Primary Care Associates for their care and compassion, family friend Alexis and Home Instead for their wonderful care, and St. Croix Hospice for guiding Patsy and our family. We couldn’t have done it without you. Mom, we will always carry you in our hearts.
