Margaret L. Bethke - "Maggie" - Age 66, passed away after a brief illness, in the arms of her loving husband, on Sunday morning Sept. 17, 2023. Maggie was born March 10, 1957, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Dorothy (Schlais) Crechard and the late Francis Crechard. Maggie was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1975. On June 18, 1999, she married James M. Bethke, and they made their home in Kaukauna. Prior to Maggie’s retirement in 2020, she was employed by Goldin Iron & Metal Recycling Corp. She was very outgoing and helpful with the customers and co-workers. All the customer’s dogs adored her and the treats she would give them when they visited. Maggie enjoyed cooking, baking, and planting flowers. She was especially talented at designing and creating stained glassware which she often gifted pieces to friends and family. Prior to her brief illness, she loved to ride on the back of Jim’s Harley and visit Doc’s Harley Davidson. Survivors include her husband: Jim; brother-in-law: Keith Shebesta; sisters-in-law: Paula Bartels, Lori (Paul) VanDaalwyk, and Lisa Meyerhofer; and many other relatives. Maggie is preceded in death by her parents: Dorothy and Francis Crechard; brother: Michael Crechard; and sisters: Monica Shaw and Maureen Shebesta.
