Leon L. Eppinger - Kaukauna - Age 77, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024. He was born in Kaukauna on April 12, 1947, to the late John and Eva (Nushart) Eppinger. Leon grew up and graduated from Kaukauna High School in the Class of 1966. He was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 35 years. Leon ended his career as a millwright and retired as an E&I technician. He was active in many organizations, including the UCT, Friends of the Grignon Mansion, Kaukauna Athletic Club, and the Disabled American Veterans. Leon was a member of the Kaukauna Moose Lodge, and received their highest award, a Pilgrims Degree. As a Kaukauna Lion, he transported for the Lions Eye Bank and was awarded the Melvin Fellowship Award and the Knight of Sight Fellowship Award. Leon also could be found calling Bingo numbers for the residents at St. Paul Home, which he truly enjoyed. Leon is survived by his brothers: Dennis (Angie) and Norman (Ruth) Eppinger; sister-in-law: Fumiko Eppinger; and nephews: Kenneth and John. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his brothers: Richard and Jerome Eppinger; and sister-in-law: Johanna Eppinger. Visitation will be held Dec. 5, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna) from 10-11:45 a.m. His funeral Mass will follow at noon with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Committal St. Mary Cemetery.
