Little Chute

Rosella Lucy Ebben - Little ChuteAge 91, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Jan. 6, 2025. She was born in Little Chute on February 23, 1933, daughter of the late Stephen and Clara (Coenen) Diedrick. Rose married John Ebben at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on Aug. 27, 1952, and together they shared more than 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. John and Rose farmed in the town of Vandenbroek where they raised their nine children. First and foremost, Rose was the best mother and grandmother. She was so proud of each of her children and loved her grandchildren dearly. After raising her children, her years as a dedicated volunteer began. She was one of the founding members of the St. John Food Pantry in 1984 and was recognized for her many years as the volunteer coordinator for the Outagamie County Meals on Wheels program in Little Chute and Kimberly. Rose was a member of the Honeycomb Homemakers, St. John Mission Club and the St. Elizabeth Society. In her free time, Rose enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead, bowling, golfing, sewing, crocheting, gardening and traveling. Rose and John traveled many places together, including almost every state and a beautiful trip to Holland. Rose is survived by her children: Elaine (Dan) Van Gompel, Chris (Mark) Pirlot, Dan (Patty), Thomas, Ron (Tracy), Greg (Nancy), Marv (Colleen), and Mike (Nicole) Ebben; grandchildren: Steve (Katie) Van Gompel, Robbie Pirlot, Dan (Jamie) Pirlot, Nicole (Art) Salazar, Alyssa (Myra Chan) Pirlot, Paul Ebben, JoAnna (Ryan) Kortz, Beth (Beau) Ebben, Blake (Madison) Ebben, Claire Ebben, Tyler (Courtney) Ebben, Eric Ebben, Scott (Kailey) Ebben, Jason Ebben, Bryan Ebben, Cam Hudziak, Cory Hudziak, Anna (Richard) Ransom and Ashley Ebben; great-grandchildren: Calleigh and Emma Kortz, Piper Ebben, Mack and Paige Ebben; siblings: Sr. Marian Diedrick, Imelda (Marvin) Hietpas, Rita (Jerry) Hietpas, Bob (Judy) Diedrick and Jerome Diedrick; in-laws: George (Rosamond) Ebben, Mary Feldkamp and Irene Diedrich; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rose was preceded in death by her husband; John Ebben; a son; Stevie Ebben; parents; Stephen and Clara Diedrick; father- and mother-in-law: Joseph and Elizabeth Ebben; Siblings: Margaret (Larry) Artz and Eleanor (Joe) Uitenbroek; in-laws: Pat Diedrick, Margaret Ebben, Gerald (Ethel) Ebben, Corneil (Caroline) Ebben, Howard Feldkamp and Jim Diedrich. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be said to conclude the evening. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning, January 14, 2025, at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00. Fr. Ron Belitz will officiate.
