Rose A. Schmidt - Kaukauna - Age 98, entered the loving arms of our Lord on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025. Rose was born in the Town of Buchanan on Oct. 16, 1926, to the late Henry and Petronella (Liebergen) Nackers. She married the love of her life, Vincent F. Schmidt, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna on May 8, 1947. They built a beautiful life together, raising eight children, before his passing in April of 2018. For many years Rose drove school bus for Kobussen Buses. Rose was a member of both the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 Auxiliary and the Golden Agers in Combined Locks. She had a passion for quilting, making many quilts for her many grandchildren’s graduations, weddings, and new babies. Rose also sewed with Angels of Comfort, a group that set out to make lap quilts for cancer patients. She also made thousands of rosaries for the missions. Rose enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, but above all, cherished the time spent with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service to others. Rose is survived by her eight children: Dennis (Linda), of Kaukauna; Gene (Jane), of Sun Prairie; Lyle (Phyllis), of New London; Roger (Ellen), of Mountain; June (Tony) Vandenberg, of Combined Locks; Sheila Porter, of Appleton; Isy Schmidt, of Kaukauna; and Pete (Lynn), of Manitowoc; her grandsons: Andy (Christel), Neal (Jodie), Philip (Vicki), Christopher (Tonya), Brad (Kim), Adam (Miranda), Matt (Kelly), Kyle (Shannon), Derek USAF (Jennifer), Ryan USMC (Amanda), Kevin (Maria) Bongers, and Todd (Jacki) Knorr; her granddaughters: Trisha Woehler, Becky (Carol) Schmidt-Schmal, Amy (Bryce) Cass, Kalla (Ross) Ford, Sara (Jake) Westrum, and Dawn (Brian) Haessly. Rose is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Dylan, Brady, Katie, Libby, Drew, Liam, Josie, Abby, Kaylee, Michaela, Faythe, Taylor (Matt), Logan, Mark, Alex, Samantha, Emma, Eleanor, Brianna, Luke, Cole, Shawn, Emerson, Sophia, Drew, Anna, Sam, Cal, Levi, Cole, Blake, Oliver, Henry, Greyson, Gavin, Brinley, Evan, Elaina, Lily, Gunner, Violet, Chloe, Mateo and Autumn; and her first great-great-grandchild due in April 2025; her siblings: Leo Nackers, Margaret (Clyde) Romenesko; and her siblings-in-law: Rita Nelessen, and John Le Pak; along with countless nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years: Vincent; her son-in-law: Earl Porter; and her grandson: Ted Schmidt; father- and mother-in-law: John J. and Hattie (Van Asten) Schmidt; her siblings: Victor (Loretta) Nackers, Russell (Evelyn) Nackers, Jerry (Mary) Nackers, and Eunice (Bernard) Tennessen and Marie Nackers; and her siblings-in-law: Annaceil (Pat) Randerson, Joe (Theresa), Alois “Buddy”, Clifford (Rita), Richard Schmidt, Delores, Mary Le Pak, James Nelessen, Alice Nackers and David Head. Visitation for Rose will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace St., Combined Locks) from 9:30-11:15 a.m. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Rev.
