Charles Arthur Hietpas - “Chuck” - Little Chute - Age 77, passed away at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025. He was born July 18, 1947, to the late Art and Irene (Timmers) Hietpas. From young on, Chuck worked for his dad, Art Hietpas Construction, where he learned the trades of home building and masonry. On Oct. 17, 1968, he married the love of his life, Ellen Lowney, and they built a beautiful life together raising their four kids. In 1983 Chuck and Ellen started Chuck Hietpas Construction, building countless homes for families throughout the Fox Valley. Throughout his life, while being an extremely hard worker, Chuck enjoyed hanging out with his Army buddies, hunting and fishing, traveling with friends, sunny Mexico and Florida vacations with his family, weekly sign-ins with Ellen, an occasional casino visit, a good Kessler sweet, and a heated game of cribbage. His favorite place to be was at the cottage on Anderson Lake where he enjoyed the peace and beauty of the lake, sunset pontoon rides, attempting to catch fish, and most of all watching his kids and grandkids. He genuinely treasured the happy times spent there with family and friends. He was a faith-filled man who loved his family well, working hard for them and supporting them. Chuck will be missed by his wife of 56 years: Ellen; his four children: Jenny (John) Elrick, Little Chute, Sara (Carl) Peluso, Pewaukee, Patrick (Theresa) Hietpas, Sussex, and Erin (Roy) Van Harpen, Little Chute; 11 grandchildren: Brandon Elrick, Alyssa (Avery) Crouch, Claire Elrick, Luca, Ella, and Nico Peluso, William and Emily Hietpas, and Lexi, Raya, and Brock Van Harpen; newly blessed with twin great-grandsons: Henry and Emmett Crouch; siblings: Sue (Ceylon) King, Jeff Hietpas, Jean (Scott) Ohrstrom Hietpas, Greg Hietpas (Peggi Crump), and Todd Hietpas (Kelle Jorgensen); mother-in-law: Rosemary Lowney; in-laws: Sue Lowney, David Lowney, Sharon (Mark) Weitz, Pete (Lynnell) Lowney, Tony Lowney, and Tricia (Matt) Martell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Ken Hietpas; father-in-law: William Lowney; brothers-in-law: Mike Lowney and Dennis “Skeeter” Lowney; and Aunt Fran, Sr. Mary Ellen Lowney. Funeral services for Chuck were held Feb. 3 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
