Richard Weyenberg

Richard Weyenberg - "Dick" - Age 87, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2025 at Country Villa in Little Chute where he resided for the past four and a half years. Dick was born March 14, 1937, to the late John and Anna Weyenberg. Dick was a lifetime resident of Kaukauna and loved being in his hometown. On Nov. 7, 1959, he was united in marriage to his wife and life-long companion, Louise Brunner, at St. Mary Church in Kaukauna. They shared 63 years of marriage together before her passing in August of 2023. Early in his life, Dick was a member of the U.S. National Guard but spent most of his life working at Badger Northland. He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he developed many friendships by ushering every week for more than 30 years. He was an avid Packer fan and hardly ever missed a game on T.V. Dick was a very proud Dad and Grandpa. One of his biggest enjoyments in life were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, watching them grow, and attended many of their sporting events whenever he was able. Dick was a very social man and enjoyed visiting with his neighbors on Rosehill Road. It was one of the things he missed most when he moved to Country Villa. He found humor in a lot of things and his laugh was contagious. More than anything, Dick had the most gracious heart and a very gentle spirit. He was a humble man and truly enjoyed the simple things in life. He always saw the best in everyone and Dick was loved by all who knew him. Dick is survived by his two children: Pat (Sara) Weyenberg, Kris (Mike) Bostedt; four grandchildren: John (Holly) Weyenberg, Kate (Blake) Bentley, Nick Bostedt, and Ryan Bostedt; four great-grandchildren: Danny, Archie and Joey Weyenberg, and Brooks Bentley. His sisters: Carol Coenen and Dorothy Lamers; brothers: Ray (Janny) Weyenberg and Chuck Weyenberg; sisters-in-law: Bev Weyenberg, Sue Hagel and Marlene Brunner, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife: Louise, Dick was preceded in death by his son: Ken Weyenberg; brother: Jim Weyenberg; his sister: Janice (Gene) Minten; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Greg Coenen, Dan Lamers, Nancy Weyenberg, Jim Brunner, Carl (LaDonna) Brunner, MaryAnn (John) Degroot, Lois O’Malley, and John Brunner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Schools and Athletic Association, as Dick loved volunteering for the Holy Cross Men’s Basketball Tournament and Oktoberfest. The family would like to extend our appreciation to Rennes Rehab and Moments Hospice for their care and concern in Richard’s last weeks. A sincere, heartfelt gratitude, goes out to all the staff at Country Villa for taking such good care of Richard. He always felt so much love from all the caregivers and he was so happy he was able to spend his last few days back at Country Villa, the place he called “home.” Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
