Kaukauna

Shawn R. Maki - Kaukauna Age 36, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025. Shawn was born Aug. 4, 1988, in Wausau, son of Leslie Maki and Jennifer (Mulford) Maki. He worked for Ahlstrom-Munksjo Thilmany Mill in Kaukauna for several years. He had a great work ethic and quickly moved up in the company. He recently took a job as a third hand in the machine room. Some of Shawn's favorite pastimes were working on his pickup truck, fishing, and downhill skiing. He also enjoyed going to fairs: playing the games and riding the rides. Most of all, Shawn enjoyed spending time with his son, Layne. He was a goofball who was always smiling. Shawn was great with the family and the kids. Survivors include his mother: Jennifer Mulford Maki of Kaukauna; father: Leslie ‘Les’ Maki of Wakefield, Mich.; sisters: Kayleigh Maki of Kaukauna and Gina Jaeger of Merrill; aunts and uncles: Jeffery (Caroline) Mulford of Merrill, Casey (Danielle) Mulford of Merrill, Alex (Zach) Rhode of Merrill, Zack Mulford of Madison, The Rev. Laurie ‘Uncle Buddy’ Maki, Jr. of Ishpeming, Mich., Lee Maki of Gwinn, Mich., Larry (Lynn) Maki of Ewen, Mich., Laura Krznarich of Wakefield, Mich., and Lynn Hill (Lowell Anderson) of Ishpeming, Mich.; great-uncle: Eino (Jeanne) Maki of Downsville, Wis.; nieces and nephews: Kennedy, Dawson, Madison, Evelyn, and Cody; and many cousins. Shawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Ronald Mulford and Marie Beasley; paternal grandparents: Laurie O. Maki, Sr. and Jean Maki; aunts: Lois Maki (wife of The Rev. Laurie ‘Uncle Buddy’ Maki Jr.) and Janice Maki (wife of Lee Maki); and several great-grandparents. A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at a later date.
