Kaukauna Utilities receives national recognition as Smart Energy Provider

Kaukauna Utilities earned a Smart Energy Provider designation from the American Public Power Association.  
The utility received the award at the American Public Power Association’s Customer Connections Conference Oct. 24-27. Nationwide, 97 public power utilities now hold the prestigious title.

Duerwaechter to retire at end of school year

One of the most successful superintendent tenures in the history of the Kaukauna Area School District is coming to an end at the end of June when Superintendent Mark Duerwaechter retires.

Duerwaechter’s retirement was approved by the board of education following a closed session on Nov. 8.

Kaukauna wins railroad track dispute with Wisconsin Central Ltd.

The Office of the Commissioner of Railroads has ruled in favor of the City of Kaukauna, which filed a complaint asking that Wisconsin Central Ltd. repair the railroad crossing with Augustine Street.

Appleton man killed in Little Chute bike-trailer accident

Officers from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department responded near the intersection of E. North Avenue and Freedom Road in the Village of Little Chute for a crash involving a semi-tractor with trailer and a bicyclist on Oct. 18 at approximately 10:48 a.m.
