Fox Cities COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic now open without appointments

The Fox Cities COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic, located at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center, 355 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, (behind the Paper Valley Hotel) is now open to walk-ins from 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for Pfizer first dose and boosters. Moderna vaccine was exhausted earlier this week.

Elite Smiles Dental wins Main Street award

The Wisconsin Economic Develop-ment Corporation recognized the best downtown revitalization projects of 2020 at the 30th Wisconsin Main Street Awards ceremony, held virtually through dozens of socially distanced “watch parties.”

Kaukauna Utilities beginning office reopening process


Brian Roebke photo/Permanent kiosks were recently installed in Hydro Park to provide visitors with information concerning the hydro-related features of the park. These include information on the Old Badger Hydro facility, the Badger Hydro facility commissioned in 2014, the native prairie that outlines the old power canal feeding Old Badger Hydro and the runner blade that was removed from the former New Badger Hydro in 1965.
With COVID-19 cases in the area decreasing and many people being vaccinated, Kaukauna Utilities is in the process of reopening for the first time in more than a year.

Let’s try this again - Paperfest, presented by Community First Credit Union, is back for 2021 with the Eli Young Band. An event that was postponed from 2020, Paperfest makes the move to Memorial Park in Combined Locks to help celebrate the Village of Combined Locks Centennial on July 15-18.

Eaglets likely in 1000 Islands active nest


Facebook screenshot/Video from April 11 shows feeding behavior from the two adults in the eagle nest in the Fox River in the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone of Kaukauna. It appears like there is at least one eaglet in the active nest.

Amounts of ARPA aid released for local municipalities

The American Recovery Plan Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, appropriates a total of $362 billion for the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery funding to provide direct payments to state, local, territorial and tribal governments.
