Volunteers from the Center for Suicide Awareness in Kaukauna had the opportunity to support our frontline police by visiting and delivering individually wrapped servings of lasagna and dessert from Landreman’s Family Restaurant.

Local health departments, with the support of area health care systems, have partnered to expand COVID-19 vaccine access for eligible community members. The Fox Cities COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic is located at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center, 355 W. Lawrence St., Appleton.

The Village of Little Chute is replacing storm sewer located at the intersection of Madison Street and Main Street, closing the west bound/right turn lane on Main Street. The south bound left turn lane remains open for movements in all directions.

Kaukauna Utilities set an all-time record for annual hydro generation production in 2020. The five behind-the-meter hydro generation facilities produced a total of 190,684 MWh in 2020, surpassing the previous record set in 2016 by 9,585 MWh. The more energy these five hydros produce, the less energy KU needs to purchase from WPPI.

The City of Kaukauna is an applicant for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program to address deficiencies in its public drinking water system. The project primarily includes the replacement of lead service lines throughout the City of Kaukauna.

Kaukauna Utilities and the City of Kaukauna welcomes Rachel Audette as their new human resources director. Audette joins the team with over 15 years of Human Resources experience. She is responsible for all human resources functions for the city and Kaukauna Utilities.

The coronavirus pandemic did not have a negative financial impact on Kaukauna Utilities in 2020.

The Calumet County Circuit Court returned to Phase Three of its COVID-19 Operating Plan on Jan. 18. In-person processing of all cases, including jury trials, have resumed. Pertinent, jury-specific safety precautions are in place, as well as general COVID-19 safety measures applicable to the public.

Nearly three weeks after receiving the initial shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine, ThedaCare is in the final stages of vaccinating Phase 1a team members who are choosing to receive the vaccine.

On Jan. 13, ThedaCare President and CEO, Imran A. Andrabi, MD, FAAFP, received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
