A series of meetings between Little Chute Elementary School Principal Marc Vandenhouten and district administrators resulted in the Little Chute School Board accepting his letter of resignation.

Vandenhouten cited family concerns in his resignation and regretted leaving the position he has held for the past two years.

Marsha Kasper, Math Teacher at Kimberly High School, along with KHS students Sofie Langenhuizen and Sawyer Stevens presented information on the Ungraded Math pilot being conducted in AP Calculus at last week’s Kimberly school board meeting.

The Little Chute School Board voted to present a referendum requesting authorization to exceed the revenue limit specified by Wisconsin statures by $300,000 per year for five years in the April 5 election.

The Kaukauna Area School District has narrowed its search for superintendent to three finalists who will meet with a community stakeholder group and the board on Wednesday, Jan. 26. 

Students at River View Middle School get their first chance to participate in the annual spelling bee in fifth grade, but it’s usually an older student who wins the contest.

But not this year.

Fifth grade student Bentley Fox scored a come-from-behind victory in the bee held at the Kaukauna Civic Auditorium.

Kaukauna High School has selected 12 students as students of the month for December of the 2020-21 school year. Students are selected by a staff member in each department in the school.

The Kaukauna Board of Education has eight candidates running for three-year terms in the spring election, meaning there is a primary to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

The Little Chute Area School District had some very special visitors last week when State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly and her deputy, John Johnson, visited the district’s two charter schools.

The pair were led on a tour by Superintendent Heidi Schmidt.

It was a year of change and new beginnings for the Little Chute School District and its new Superintendent, Heidi Schmidt.

The Kaukauna Area School District is proud of its inclusion of all students in student activities and yet another example is the Kaukauna High School bowling team.

The team has a varsity team and two junior varsity teams. The unique part of the second team this year is team members consist of special needs students.
