Papermakers get three match wins against Neenah

Karsen Otis, Cameron Perkovich, Tanner Hart and Brody Beck all notched wins for the Papermakers wrestling team last week. Otis, Hart and Perkovich earned wins by fall, while Beck earned his in a 14-3 major decision in the Dec. 22 matches.

Pawlikowski making mark as freshman at St. Leo University

Kimberly grad Owen Pawlikowski is making the most of his freshman year for the St. Leo University Lions. The former Papermaker has started all 14 games and is fourth on the team in scoring with 125 points, fourth in steals with 11 and has hit 21 three pointers this season.

Borchert reaches 1,000 point milestone

Kimberly grad Levi Borchert etched his name in UW-Oshkosh men’s basketball history last week. In the team’s 68-50 win over St. Norbert College, he scored his 1,000th career point in the team’s eighth win of the season and is the 37th 1,000 point scorer in school history.

The Kimberly Papermakers girls basketball team had four players in double figures as they routed Madison Memorial on the road last week. MaKenzie Drout led the way with 17 points, while Kate McGinnis had 16 a dominating 81-38 win on Dec. 20.

Zarnecke selected as Wissports Athlete of the Week

Kaukauna senior Alana Zarnecke was selected as the Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week in a statewide vote on Wissports.net last week. There were 5,534 votes total in the vote, and Zarnecke had 2,067 votes with Prescott’s Dallas Wallin coming in second with 1,971 votes.

Kaukauna girls use huge second half to get past Papermakers

The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls basketball team used a big second half run to get past their neighboring rivals in the Kimberly Papermakers. After only having a 20-15 lead at the half, the Ghosts used a 20-4 run to get a comfortable win over the Papermakers.
