Seniors Hunter Thiel and Drew Joten made sure the County Road N sign came back to Little Chute last week. Both had key catches on the Mustangs’ final drive before Joten scored the game winning touchdown with under 30 seconds left in the game for a 22-16 win over Freedom.

Kimberly wins first ever tennis conference title

Kimberly will have another conference banner to add to their gym this year as the Papermakers tennis earned their first ever share of a conference title last week. The Papermakers tied with Appleton North on Sept. 29 with 14 wins in the conference meet.

Kimberly’s rushing attack was stymied last week in a road game against Fond du Lac. The Papermakers were held under 100 yards rushing for the first time all season long in their 31-21 loss to the Cardinals.

The Kaukauna golf team added regional champs to their resume this season. The Ghosts had a first place score of 335 points on the Reid Golf Course in Appleton on Sept. 28 as they outscored second place Appleton North by eight strokes.

Neenah’s two-headed rushing attack proved too much for the Kaukauna Ghosts last week. Jase Jenkins and Evan Vanevenhoven both ran for over 100 yards as the two helped down the Ghosts 35-17 in week seven action.

Wegand leads way for Mustangs volleyball

Little Chute renewed their rivalry with Wrightstown last week on the road in a four set win. Little Chute started off the first set with an 11-1 lead before Wrightstown cut it to two at 17-15. The Mustangs later pushed the lead back to 24-18 before taking the set 25-19.
