Paul Pelkey

Paul Joseph Pelkey  - (11/26/1965 - 4/09/2021) - Our family and community has lost a very special man on the morning of Friday April 9, 2021. Paul Joseph Pelkey passed away peacefully at Country Villa in Freedom, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Kaukauna and was cherished by his mother Winnifred (Skenandore) Pelky and his late father James Pelky, his loving wife Melody and her children Ashley (Luke) and Mason. His children Joseph, Nicholas, Nathan, Ethan (Courtney) and Mariah (John), his siblings and their entire families, Patrick (Lisa), Patricia (Ray), Paige (Greg), Kurt (Ellen), Kim (Joe), Kevin (Jacqueline), Kristal (Chad) and the late Peter (Kymberley) and Penny. Paul was a grandfather to (Aria and Noah) both children of his wife’s daughter. Paul also has amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many caring friends. Paul Pelkey has touched many souls in his lifetime, all who loved him dearly.  For most of Paul's career he worked in the cheese industry. His passion for it grew over 20 years and he worked at many factories doing all aspects of the industry. Paul was not only a loving family man but loved riding his Harley named Brezze (Breeze). In the woods, he was an avid outdoorsman; a leader of hunting, fishing, camping, and bird watching. Every Sunday he enjoyed watching football, his favorite the Green Bay Packers! At the dinner table, he was the master player of cards, Yahtzee player, and inventor of hilarious jokes. Lastly, Paul loved dancing, always being the first to grab the dance floor especially to country music. The trials and tribulations Paul was able to overcome in his time here spoke volumes to his character. He was a kind, generous man who would help any one person or animal in need. Known as a local hero in St Petersburg, Fla., Paul rescued an infant child from a burning home, and was awarded the Carnegie Medal. This was just the type of person he was, willing to fight fire, and endure severe burns over his body just to save the life of another. Paul Joseph Pelkey vowed to protect his family and loved ones.  There was nothing that brought him more joy than seeing the people that loved him. He cherished Sunday dinners with his family. Truly a man of many trades and an amazing cook. Paul loved experimenting in the kitchen, cooking traditional holiday meals, and absolutely loved chili. In fact, everyone else did too! A special thank you to St. Vincent/St. Mary's Hospital, the dedicated, caring, and compassionate staff of Country Villa in Freedom and Moments Hospice. “I am so grateful that I met and married such an amazing and loving family man.
