Charles F. Hamilton, Jr. - (Chuck) - Kaukauna - 11/6/1941- 5/29/2021 - Age 79, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday May 29, 2021. He was born to Leone (Plumb) and Charles F. Hamilton, Sr. and raised in Clintonville with his brother H. Harry Hamilton. He attended grade school and high school there. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1960-62. In 1966, he began working at Miller Electric and retired in 2001 as a supervisor of the sheet metal department. He respected all of his co-workers and believed that by showing them respect and fairness, it would be returned. Everyone was Charlie’s friend; he was so likeable that to go anywhere and hear a “Hey Hambone, Yo Chuckles, Hi Charlie, or Hi Chas” was not uncommon. Curling, bowling, and golf were Charlie’s main sports to participate in until his health began to decline. Charlie loved watching all Wisconsin sports — particularly the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers (especially when “FastBall Freddy” pitched). He enjoyed the Heiting Place, the Lox Club, and their fun-filled bus trips to the Island Casino and to Brewer games. Moreover, he looked forward to his adventures with Tom and Sheila to Bowler and Keshena. Chuck was married to Joann (Pahl) Hamilton by Pastor Walt Steinbach on July 23, 1976, and took on the role of step-father to Kevin and Kurt. The boys were so fortunate to have Charlie as such a loving and supportive role model. Chuck thought the world of his three lovely granddaughters. They were the “apple of his eye” and he would do anything for them: from carrying them on his shoulders, attending their sporting events, cheering them on through college, and everything in between; he was always there with his support. Just when he thought he couldn’t give more love to anyone, along came three beautiful great-grandchildren. Watching them play T-ball was such a pleasure. Charlie embodied a fantastic grandpa. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Vilas (Vic) Boyce, godparents: Lyle & Gladys Plumb, grandparents: Harry & Irma Plumb, mother and father-in law: Ben & Marie Pahl, and brother-in-law: Ronald Pahl. He is survived by his wife: Joann, step sons: Kevin Anderson & Kurt (Stacy) Anderson, brother: Harry (Sandy) Hamilton, grandchildren: Amber (Christopher) Nackers, and Alyssa and Emily Anderson. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Isaiah, and Coraeh Nackers, two granddogs: Taya and Harley, sister-in-law: Sharon (Bob) Hoffmann, brothers-in-law: Duane (Joan) and Bruce Pahl, and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to all the wonderful family, friends, and neighbors for the phone calls, love, support, and prayers shown during this time. A special thank you to Pastor Walt Steinbach for the home visits where he provided many laughs and prayers; also thank you to Dr. Janine Buffo, Dr. Valla, Dr. Fernando, Thedacare Hospice, Amber (Argo), and Ida. All of you made this difficult journey much easier. Thank you Kurt, Kevin, Stacy, and the rest of the family for always being “there” for me. You were such devoted and cherished helpers. Kurt, thank you so much for your around-the-clock presence and for being the main caregiver for Chuck; words cannot describe my appreciation to you for everything you did to make Chuck comfortable and pain free. I cannot thank you all enough. Chuck, you fought such a valiant battle against prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and your body just couldn’t fight any longer when acute leukemia (AML) was diagnosed. Fly high and rest in peace- until we meet again. His funeral service was held June 2 at O’Connell Funeral Home, Little Chute, with the Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating. His body was laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville where full military honors were held. His pallbearers were Christopher Nackers, Gary Senso, Tom Peters, Tom Anderson, Marlin Hudziak, Dick Koeppen, Tim Gajewski and American Legion Post 63.
