Lorayne Evers

Lorayne C. Evers - Little Chute - Age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born on June 7, 1935, to the late Theodore and Cecilia (Ludwig) Philipsen. Lorayne was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Evers on May 11, 1957, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2016. Together they raised five sons. After Tony became disabled in 1972 Lorayne went to work at the Kimberly Mill for 25 years until her retirement. Golfing in the summer and bowling in the winter were part of retirement. She also volunteered one day a week starting at Appleton Medical Center, then moved to the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, and finishing up until recently at the ThedaCare Cancer Center. Over those 30 years Lorayne had various roles but seemed to find her niche playing cards, games or just conversation to help patient’s cancer treatments a bit more tolerable. She was a part of the American Legion Auxillary post and was involved heavily with the St. John parish community. Lorayne cherished time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren rarely missing an event. In addition she would also help elderly friends providing rides for errands, doctor appointments, or just to spend time with them. She is survived by her four sons: Mark (Karena), Bruce (Kris), Todd (Laura), and Doug (Kimberly); eight grandchildren: Tyler (fiancé, Kailyn), Sean (Melissa), Erin Kuhn (Matt), Rob, Tony (Allison), Zach (Abby), Krystal Burrrows (Dave), and Kevin (Christie). Also 13 great-grandchildren that loved her dearly, and five brother/sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents and her husband: Tony, Lorayne was preceded in death by her son: Thomas J.; infant children: Mary and Thomas; great-grandson: Noah; her brother and several brother/sisters-in-law. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
