The Faces Behind the News

Bart Landsverk is the general manager of the Times-Villager, Around Town and the Wrightstown Area Spirit. Bart has worked in publishing weekly newspapers and hunting magazines for more than 17 years. He is also currently the editor of Whitetail News. Bart graduated from Freedom High School and UW-Oshkosh. He lives in Little Chute.    

    Diane Verhagen is the sales manager for the Times-Villager, Around Town and the Wrightstown Area Spirit. Diane has worked for more than ten years in newspapers for The Kaukauna Times, Fox Cities Newspapers and the Times-Villager. She graduated from Wrightstown High School and has attended Fox Valley Technical College. She lives in Combined Locks.

Brian Roebke is the editor for the Times-Villager. Brian has worked for 18 years in the newspaper business after serving as a volunteer reporter for several years and sports editor for 5 years. Brian decides which stories appears in the paper, paginates the paper and covers school events and meetings in addition to doing features. He has taught business at the high school and middle school level and served as a customer service rep in the publishing industry before coming to The Kaukauna Times in 1991. Brian, who graduated from Kaukauna High School and Northern Michigan University, lives in Kaukauna.    

Michael Graber is the editor for the Appleton Journal. He began his journalism career with the Times-Villager, and has worked with the newspaper as a freelance sports reporter. He also worked for multiple campus newspapers in college. Mike graduated from Kimberly High School and received his bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. His degree emphasis was in print journalism. He currently lives in Kimberly.    

    Rachel Johnson is the copy editor for the Times-Villager and editor of the Wrightstown Area Spirit. She's been in the publishing industry for eight years and also taught Quark XPress workshops at Marquette University. Rachel has a bachelor's degree in Foreign Service from Baylor University and a Masters in Journalism from Marquette. Rachel lives in the Town of Wrightstown.

Ellen Vissers is the production manager for the Times-Villager, Around Town and the Wrightstown Area Spirit. Ellen has 8 years experience in newspapers. She has been involved in advertising for more than 16 years with Nash Finch and Fox Cities Newspapers before joining the Times-Villager. Ellen graduated from Freedom High School and attended Fox Valley Tech. She lives in Appleton.    

Wendy Schneider is a Graphic Artist for the Times-Villager Newspaper Group. 

 

Wendy has been involved in Marketing and Advertising for 8 years. Prior to joining the Times Villager team, Wendy worked as a Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer in the yachting industry and most recently, in the advertising industry.

 

Wendy graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  Her degree emphasis was in marketing. She lives in the Brillion area.

   

    Paula Smits is a sales representative who grew up in Luxemburg. She graduated from St. Norbert College with a BA in communications. She is the sales manager for the Wrightstown Area Spirit. Paula worked in radio as a DJ, and TV as an assistant news producer, and then worked at the Green Bay News Chronicle and De Pere Journal for 28 years in advertising sales. In the past she has served on board of directors of the De Pere Business Association. She has been involved with Celebrate De Pere since the start, and is currently the vice president for Celebrate De Pere.

Julie Giordana works in the production department. She has been a Dental Assistant in Colorado and for Dr. Mark Lenz, Little Chute. She is a graduate of Little Chute High School and lives in Appleton.

   

    Sally Giordana is an office assistant. She was the Village of Little Chute's Deputy Clerk/Administrators Assistant for 14 years. She graduated from Kaukauna High School and lives in Kaukauna.

Bonnie Van Wychen is an office assistant. A graduate of Menasha High School, she has lived in Kaukauna for 18 years with her husband, Larry, and four children. In the past she's worked for Gunderson Uniform and Linen as Healthcare Manager. Her family is very involved in the Kaukauna wrestling program.
