Big plays come back to haunt Ghosts in loss at FDL

FOND DU LAC — Fond du Lac led Kaukauna just 10-0 at halftime of last Friday night’s rain-soaked game at Fruth Field. But a couple of gadget plays that led to scores gave the Cardinals a 24-0 lead before the Ghosts could get on the board, and a usually explosive Kaukauna offense was held down in a 38-14 Fox Valley Association loss.

Kaukauna girls’ tennis earns win over Spartans

The Kaukauna girls’ tennis team picked up a win last week, beating Oshkosh North 6-1 Thursday afternoon.
Maddie Smith got a win in No. 1 singles for the Ghosts, beating the Spartans’ Maya Walker in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 10-6. 
Kaukauna’s No. 3 singles player, Kendra Lamers, took down Madeline Drews, 6-4, 6-3.

Little Chute volleyball drops home match against conference foe Waupaca

The Little Chute volleyball team hosted Waupaca Thursday night but the Comets proved to be too much as the Mustangs fell in three sets.
Little Chute kept the first set close before ultimately losing 25-22. The Mustangs then lost the second set 25-8 and the third 25-18.

Kimberly soccer scores 10 goals in two wins over Neenah, Trojans

The Kimberly boys’ soccer team beat Neenah 5-3 last Tuesday to remain tied atop the Fox Valley Association standings. 
The Papermakers then hosted Wauwatosa West in a non-conference matchup and beat the Trojans 5-1.

The Kaukauna girls’ volleyball team went on the road to face Appleton North Thursday, losing in three sets (25-11, 25-19, 25-17).
Maddie Rill had 7 kills to lead the Ghosts. Taylor Tetzlaff added 6, while Alana Zarneke and Olivia Van Zeeland each had 5.

The Kaukauna boys’ volleyball team continued its outstanding run of form in the 2021 fall season, going undefeated to win the Dave Hash Invitational at home Saturday after beating Appleton East 3-0 Tuesday night.

The Kimberly girls’ tennis team won two more matches last weekend, sweeping New London on Saturday and then beating West De Pere 6-1.

Kaukauna girls’ CC rolls again at 21-team Smiley Invitational

The Kaukauna girls’ cross country team literally ran away from the field at Saturday’s Smiley Invitational.
The Ghosts finished with 45 points compared to second-place Sun Prairie’s 152.
Sophomore Sydney Fauske finished second overall in the girls’ race with a time of 19 minutes, 6 seconds.
