Community members defend galloping ghost statue


Brian Roebke photos — Jean Promer, recording secretary for the Kaukauna Alumni Foundation, told the Kaukauna school board the foundation has donated more than $500,000 in scholarships to KHS graduates. This year, the foundation was told a $1,000 donation was being withheld because of discussions to remove the galloping ghost statue from the front of Kaukauna High School.
With word around the community that some Kaukauna High School students want to see the bronze galloping ghost statue removed from the front of school, community members showed up en force at the March 8 Kaukauna board of education meeting.
