Superintendent Mike Slowinski and Board President Chris Bouressa presented a plaque and flower to Sue (Weigman) Gertz’s daughters, Sarah Larsen, Any Stenz, and Cindy Bruecker, at last week’s board meeting. Gertz passed away March 14, ending her long association with the school district, including time as an employee and board member following her graduation in 1958.

There were plenty of people attending the regular meeting of the Kaukauna Area Board of Education on Monday, April 27, with plenty of recognition and good news shared from the school district.
The Kaukauna High School student council held a job fair on Friday, April 17, where students could get leads on both part-time and full-time jobs and careers.
Kimberly Area School District Director of Learning John Schultz provided the school board with an update on the district’s strategic approach to Artificial Intelligence at last week’s board meet.
An international trip to Greece was approved at last week’s Kimberly School Board meeting. The trip will be during next year’s spring break and be for students in the global scholars program and for students taking the AP European History Class.
The Kaukauna Area School District received approval from the board of education to adopt new textbooks at its meeting on Monday, March 23, at Kaukauna High School. The district recommended that it continue to utilize Bridges Math with the updated third edition.
The Little Chute School Board endorsed the Academic and Career Planning program as presented by High School/Career Pathways Principal Tony Bird and Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Angela Wachtel.
The 2026-27 staff compensation for Kaukauna Area School District employees was approved by the board of education as presented by Superintendent Mike Slowinski at its Monday, March 9, regular meeting. Also approved was a net 2.5 full-time equivalent certified staff positions.
