Plenty of praise heard at Kaukauna Board of Education meeting


Brian Roebke photos — Superintendent Mike Slowinski and Board President Chris Bouressa presented a plaque and flower to Sue (Weigman) Gertz’s daughters, Sarah Larsen, Any Stenz, and Cindy Bruecker, at last week’s board meeting. Gertz passed away March 14, ending her long association with the school district, including time as an employee and board member following her graduation in 1958.

An international trip to Greece was approved at last week’s Kimberly School Board meeting. The trip will be during next year’s spring break and be for students in the global scholars program and for students taking the AP European History Class.

Kaukauna Area Board of Education approves continuing math program

The Kaukauna Area School District received approval from the board of education to adopt new textbooks at its meeting on Monday, March 23, at Kaukauna High School. The district recommended that it continue to utilize Bridges Math with the updated third edition.

Kaukauna board of education approves staffing proposal, staff compensation

The 2026-27 staff compensation for Kaukauna Area School District employees was approved by the board of education as presented by Superintendent Mike Slowinski at its Monday, March 9, regular meeting. Also approved was a net 2.5 full-time equivalent certified staff positions.
