Julia Gurholt is headed to the state tennis tournament for the third year in a row. The junior went 2-1 at the sectional meet at the Fox Cities Racquet Club last week as the Papermakers took third with 34 points.
Despite it being a rivalry week, the Kimberly and Kaukauna communities valued to support a local coach. The Galloping Ghosts volleyball program supported their coach Jodi Matthies last week with a breast cancer awareness game against their crosstown rivals.
The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts golf team is headed back to state once again. The team finished with a second place score of 336 as they finished seven strokes behind sectional winner Bay Port at High Cliff last week.
After winning its first four games of the season, the Little Chute football team went into its game against Wrightstown on Oct. 6 on a three-game losing skid.

The Kimberly vs. Kaukauna rivalry has been mostly dominated by the Papermakers. That changed on Friday night as the Galloping Ghosts secured their first win over the Papermakers since 2003.
William Murray continues to come up big at goalkeeper for the Kaukauna boys soccer team. The senior had four more saves during their conference loss to Fond du Lac last week.
The Kimberly girls cross country team took third during the Terry Krall Invitational in Slinger with 69 points last week, while the boys placed fifth with 129 points.
Despite being a little short-handed, the Little Chute Mustangs volleyball team fell flat in sets two and three before falling to their conference rivals in Wrightstown last week. The team was without senior Kara Verstegen and Addison Wegand in the loss.
Ava Reis and Ava Van Vonderen continue to lead the way for the Kimberly girls volleyball team. Both led the team in kills last week for the Papermakers.
