The Little Chute Mustangs baseball team is finding different ways to win ball games. Last week, the team won a game on a walk off and won a game where their two only runs scored on a sacrifice fly and a hit by pitch.
The Kaukauna Ghosts suffered two close losses last week as they fell to 2-9 on the season. The Ghosts suffered a 5-4 loss to Neenah before losing a 10 inning thriller to Bay Port in non-conference play.
Kimberly grad Jackson Paveletzke is headed closer to home next season. After entering the transfer process, he is joining the Iowa State basketball program for his next year of school.
Riley Huss set a school record last week for the Little Chute Mustangs track and field team. Huss took second with a time of 4:19.55 in the 1600 meter run at the Hale Distance Night on April 28 as he finished neck and neck with Pacelli’s Adam Eiden, who won the event in 4:19.40.
Paige Wyngaard and Jayda Nelson lifted the Kimberly softball team last week. Wyngaard and Nelson both had six hits in last week’s action as the team heads into this week with a 9-5 record.
Kaylin Wegand helped provide two goals last week for the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts soccer team. The Ghosts head into a two game week with a 2-3-2 record on the season.
Madelyn Birling provided some run producing hits last week for the Little Chute Mustangs softball team. She provided three RBI hits during Little Chute’s five games during the week including a three run home run against Clintonville.
The last two weeks have been record setting ones for Kaukauna’s Amber Gerrits. A week after breaking a six year school record, the sophomore broke her own record in the 100 meter hurdles last week at the Gil Frank invite at Papermakers stadium.
Little Chute let a game get away from them last week. After having a 3-1 lead in their first game against Denmark, the Mustangs surrendered four runs late to suffer a loss as they are on a two game losing streak heading into this week.
