The Kimberly relay teams led the way last week for the Kimberly track and field team. The Papermakers had three first place finishes during the Red Hawk Challenge at Ripon College on March 28.
Aaron Schimke, Andrew Milhans, Brady Hoffer and Sydney Fauske were standouts last week for the Kaukauna track and field team as the team competed in two separate meets at Ripon College.
Former Badger Ben Brust scored more than 20 points in four games of the 54th annual Holy Cross basketball tournament over the last two weeks. Brust scored 98 points in the tournament as he helped McCarty Law grab this year’s title.
After winning the state championship the last two seasons along with going into the season with a 51 game winning streak, Kaukauna softball coach Tim Roehrig wants his team to focus on the journey this season as the team seeks that elusive third straight state championship.
Kaukauna head football coach and high school guidance counselor Matt Binsfeld was selected by the U.S. Marine Corps for the Semper Fi coaching award last week. Binsfeld was selected for his outstanding leadership as a coach.
A couple of former Wisconsin Badgers showed they could still play last week. Ben Brust and Zak Showalter both posted 20 point performances in the Holy Cross basketball tournament over the weekend.
The Kaukauna girls soccer team is motivated after last year’s postseason run. The Galloping Ghosts finished last year seventh in the conference, but ended their season in the sectional round of the WIAA playoffs.
Daniel Van Dyke led the way for the Kaukauna track and field team last week during the Ripon College Invitational. Van Dyke took home first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.58 during the road meet on March 21.
