Kimberly boys rout Fond du Lac, move to 2-0

The Maker boys followed a season-opening Fox Valley Association win over Hortonville with a 27-point home victory over Fond du Lac last Tuesday night.
Kimberly led 46-35 going into halftime and outscored the Cardinals by 16 more over the final 18 minutes.

Little Chute girls drop pair of NEC matchups

The Little Chute girls basketball team played twice last week, first a road matchup at Wrightstown on Tuesday and then another road game, this one at Clintonville on Friday. The Tigers proved to be too much for the Mustangs, but the girls held serve with Clintonville before eventually returning home with their second loss of the week.

The Fox Cities Stars boys hockey team played twice last week, first on Tuesday, Nov. 30 when they lost 10-0 at home to Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha and then again Saturday afternoon when they fell to Sheboygan on the road 6-2.

Mustangs finish fifth at Sgt. Nick Mueller Memorial Tournament


Brian Roebke photo/Little Chute’s Devin Stanelle finished first at 160 pounds at Saturday’s Sgt. Nick Mueller Memorial Tournament. Stanelle won an 8-3 decision over Wrightstown’s Isaiah Pennenberg in the final.
Little Chute hosted its annual Sgt. Nick Mueller Memorial Tournament on Saturday and the host Mustangs came away with a fifth-place finish overall.
Little Chute tallied 82.5 points on the day.
Wrightstown finished first with 148.0 points and was followed by Weyauwega-Fremont, Freedom, and Omro.

Kimberly wrestling finishes fourth at home tournament, routs Fond du Lac in conference-opening duel


Andrew Hanlon photo/Kimberly’s Karsen Otis finished second at 152 pounds at Kimberly’s home tournament Saturday and earned a pin in the Papermakers’ rout of Fond du Lac in Thurday night’s duel.
The Kimberly wrestling team hosted its annual Papermaker invitational Saturday, and with 401 total points, finished fourth overall behind Amery, Coleman, and Fox Valley Association rival Appleton North.

Kimberly girls 1-1 last week, lose on road at Hortonville

The Kimberly girls split last week’s games, first cruising to a 59-36 home win against Appleton North before struggling in a 74-47 road loss to Hortonville.

Kaukauna wrestling opens season with win at Nicolet Knight Scramble

A reloading Kaukauna wrestling squad opened its season with a win at the Nicolet Knight Scramble Saturday.
The Ghosts totaled 256 points. The hosts had 222.5, while Brookfield East was third with 200.5.
