Rentmeester’s hockey career continues to reach new heights


File photo/Wrightstown’s Grace Rentmeester finished second in the state in points last season as a high school freshman and now heads to Pennsylvania to compete in the USA Hockey National Tournament later this month.
As a freshman last year in her initial high school season, Wrightstown’s Grace Rentmeester ended the year second in the state in goals and first in assists, trailing only her Fox Cities Stars teammate McKayla Zilisch in points, totaling 65 to Zilisch’s 68.

Papermakers use third-quarter surge, hold on to beat East


Andrew Hanlon photo/The Kimberly offensive line paved the way for 227 yards rushing for senior running back Caleb Frazer and 269 yards on the ground overall to go along with 3 touchdowns in Friday night’s home victory over Appleton East.
The Kimberly football team, in its bid to remain unbeaten thus far in the 2021 alternate season, led by just three over Appleton East at the end of the first quarter after a 28-yard Kam Ziebell field goal.

Kimberly girls’ volleyball season ends again in sectional final


File photo/Kimberly Head Coach Carrie Knutson said she was proud of the way the Papermakers improved as the season went along. Despite the season-ending loss to eventual-state champion Appleton North in a sectional final, Kimberly finished the year with a record of 11-4 and brings back a wealth of talent and experience as the Makers look toward next year.
It feels like forever ago at this point, but just last Tuesday, April 13, the Kimberly girls’ volleyball team played two matches for a shot at advancing to the alternate season state tournament.

It came down to the team that won the biggest points in the crucial third and fourth sets, and the Papermakers were up to the task.

Kimberly boys volleyball rolls to regional title, sectional title


Andrew Hanlon photo/Kimberly senior setter Connor Hussey was instrumental in leading the Papermakers’ offense as they swept both Neenah and Fond du Lac Saturday to win a regional title. Hussey totalled 59 assists, 6 aces and 14 digs in the team’s two wins.

The Kimberly boys’ volleyball team had no trouble at all Saturday, moving one step closer to defending its state title as the Papermakers cruised past fourth-seeded Neenah and second-seeded Fond du Lac on Jack Wippich Court.
