Kaukauna’s Ava Bloch shot 44 to lead the Ghosts in their win over Kimberly Thursday afternoon at Countryside Golf Course. The team averaged a 45 in the 180-189 victory.
The Kaukauna girls’ golf team won two more matches last week, first cruising to an easy win against Appleton West at home at Countryside Golf Course before narrowly beating Fox Valley Association rival Kimberly.
Both the Little Chute boys’ and girls’ cross country squads grabbed third-place finishes in the 2021 season-opening meet at Irish Waters Golf Course in Freedom.
The Kimberly boys’ volleyball team kicked off its 2021 season — after playing in last spring’s alternate campaign — with three straight wins before losing to Kettle Moraine in the semifinals, earning a third-place finish overall at the Kettle Moraine Invite Saturday.
The Kaukauna boys’ volleyball team got its season started in championship fashion, going 5-0 at the Kettle Moraine Invite to bring home the tournament title.
The Ghosts were an unbeaten 10-0 overall in match play despite starting the season outside the top 10 in the preseason coaches poll.
The Little Chute volleyball team hosted an invitational last Tuesday, playing five matches and winning three, before hosting a quad on Thursday and sweeping the field with three wins.
The Kimberly boys’ soccer team beat Pewaukee 1-0 on Friday for its first win of 2021. The Makers then fell to last year’s state runners-up in ArrowHead, 2-1. Sebastian Pagan-Vega scored in the second half as Kimberly tried to mount a comeback, ultimately falling short.

Ghosts’ midfielder/forward Evan Corrigan had four shots on goal and assisted on one of Kaukauna’s eight scores in the team’s five-goal win at home against Shawano.
After a 6-0 loss to Plymouth to begin the season, the Kaukauna boys’ soccer team responded by scoring eight goals in an 8-3 home victory over Shawano to earn its first win of the year.
