Kimberly boys use big first half to roll to win over Kaukauna

The Kimberly boys’ basketball team handily defeated Kaukauna in December and hosted the Ghosts on Friday. Hoping to maintain a dominant performance this season they did just that, beating Kaukauna 92-65 on Jack Wippich Court.

The Kaukauna wrestling team added another trophy to the case, winning Saturday’s WIAA Division 1 regional at home while sending 11 of 14 wrestlers on to sectionals this Saturday.

Kaukauna girls rout Appleton West before Kimberly loss, respond with huge FVA win over Neenah

Like their counterparts Friday night, the Ghosts began last week with a road game in Appleton, squaring off with the Terrors of Appleton West last Tuesday night. And, like the Papermakers against Appleton North, Kaukauna had no trouble with its FVA opponent, cruising to a 70-34 win.

Fox Cities boys win third, fourth games before season comes to an end in playoff loss to West Bend

The Fox Cities Stars boys’ hockey team won back-to-back games for the first time this season, beating Oshkosh 4-0 on the road Friday and then exploding offensively for an 11-2 home victory over Shawano/Bonduel/Clintonville at home on Saturday. The Stars' season came to an end, however, after Tuesday night's playoff loss to West Bend.

Another dominant first half leads to Kimberly boys’ win over Lightning

A 7-7 game at the 13:42 mark of the first half in the Kimberly boys’ home matchup with Appleton North last Tuesday quickly turned into a rout as the Makers drilled threes on five of their next seven possessions to turn a tie game into a 15-point lead.

Stars pick up first conference win with 5-1 victory against Waupun

The Fox Cities Stars boys earned their first Badgerland Conference win of the season, and their second overall, in a 5-1 home victory over Waupun Tuesday night.

The Stars then nearly earned wins three and four this past weekend, losing 3-2 to Waupaca on Saturday and 4-3 to Whitefish Bay on Sunday.

Little Chute boys fall victim to Wrightstown's hot shooting night

Often, analyzing a basketball game can be complicated; sometimes, however, it’s uncommonly simple.

The Wrightstown boys’ basketball team shot 61 percent from the floor last Tuesday night. The Little Chute boys shot 33 percent. The Tigers were 10 of 18 from deep (55 percent) and the Mustangs were 5 of 19 (26 percent).

Kaukauna boys win three last week, have now won 9 of last 11

It took a while to get going but when the Kaukauna Ghosts got going, they really got going Saturday night at Appleton West High School, beating the Terrors 99-62. It was Kaukauna’s third time over 90 points in five days.
