Kaukauna football season ends prematurely

The Kaukauna football team found out Tuesday, just days after a remarkable comeback win on the road at Germantown and three days before the Ghosts’ scheduled matchup with Cedarburg in the first game of what was to be a two-game postseason, that due to COVID-19 complications, its season was coming to an abrupt end.

Two Thursdays ago, just about 24 hours before a road game at North Eastern Conference foe Luxemburg-Casco, the Little Chute football team found out it would be travelling without a large chunk of its coaching staff, including Head Coach Ted Evers, and the turmoil showed in a 28-0 loss.

Kimberly, Little Chute girls’ golfers named Academic All-State honorees

Four members of the Little Chute varsity girs’ golf squad, as well as the entire starting varsity team for Kimberly, were all named as Academic All-State honorees for the 2020 season by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin.

The honorees for Little Chute include Lexie Roth, Karsen Hammen, Kayla Hansen and Elena Bauer.

In what ended up becoming final game of 2020 season, Ghosts come back late to beat Germantown on road

GERMANTOWN – It all looked bleak for Kaukauna.

Its outstanding defense, which had allowed 33 points in five games, was gashed by three long runs. Its offense turned the ball over four times. Its punt team allowed a touchdown.

Kaukauna sees swimmer, diver both advance to state meet

Little Chute’s Hammen named Honorable Mention All-State

Little Chute senior Karsen Hammen was named to the 2020 Honorable Mention All-State Team by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin.

Hammen was also named to the North Eastern Conference First-Team All-Conference squad last month after shooting an 88 to finish fifth overall at the conference meet.

Kaukauna girls win first cross country title in school history

Behind another exceptional finish from senior Anna Fauske, who finished fourth overall with a time of 18 minutes, 23 seconds, the Kaukauna girls won the first cross country title in school history — boys or girls — beating second-place Whitefish Bay by seven points Saturday at the WIAA Division 1 State Cross Country Championships.

Huss leads Little Chute boys to fifth-place finish at state, Wilson 40th for girls

Riley Huss once again paced the Little Chute boys’ cross country team, this time at the 2020 state meet as he finished ninth overall with a time of 16 minutes, 51 seconds, helping the Mustangs to a fifth-place finish Saturday at Colby High School, just three points behind fourth-place Valders and nine behind third-place Freedom.
