Kimberly wrestling continues toward goal of becoming “measuring stick” of FVA

The Kimberly Papermaker wrestling squad continues to improve each year under head coach Ben Engelland.

The Makers had two wrestlers advance to individual state last year in Trey King (160) and Deiondre Williams (182). Both return for their senior seasons in 2020-21.

Senior Tate Huss was named the North Eastern Conference’s Defensive Back of the Year in 2020, leading the way for four Little Chute players who were named to the NEC’s First-Team All-Conference squads.

Huss was a unanimous selection on defense and as a wide receiver on offense.

Senior Chloe Van Zeeland scored 16 points in the first half and added 18 more in the second, including her 1,000th at Kaukauna, as the Ghosts’ girls pulled away for a 69-53 win at home over Appleton West to begin the season 1-0.

After finishing second at conference and advancing through sectionals to the WIAA 2020 State Girls Swimming & Diving Championships, Kaukauna senior diver Emily Clark grabbed a 13th-place finish Saturday at the Waukesha South Natatorium, ending her day with a score of 353.35.
