FOND DU LAC – Going on a 15-2 run to end of the game, the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts earned a deceptive 59-41 win over Fond du Lac on Friday night, making an 18-point win look like a blowout when it was in fact a dogfight for the first 31 minutes of the 36-minute game.
LA CROSSE -- A 13-point run in the first half and a 14-point run in the second half helped the Kaukauna Ghosts earn a 74-55 victory over River Falls on Saturday afternoon at the Midwest Players Classic at the La Crosse Center.
The Little Chute Mustangs boys basketball team showed up on both sides of the ball last week. The Mustangs started the week by limiting Marinette to 12 second half points and ended the week by limiting Oconto Falls to 11 made shots.
After losing to Kimberly on the road earlier in the week, senior Addison Baumgart helped the Galloping Ghosts avenge an early season loss with a 51-39 win over Fond du Lac last week.
The Kimberly wrestling team had a freshman step up in their dual with Fond du Lac last week. Micah Driessen stepped for the team during their win during the conference double duals at Kaukauna High School.
After his impressive run as a Kaukauna wrestler, senior Nick Jenkins will stay close to home for his collegiate wrestling career. The senior will wrestle at nearby UW-Oshkosh next year.
Aubree Roche made an impact from three point range last week for the Little Chute Mustangs girls basketball team. She hit two in the first half of their loss to Marinette last week.
The Kimberly Papermakers boys basketball team led from the opening tip against Appleton East last week. The Papermakers started the game on a 13-0 run and never looked back as they grabbed a 64-50 win over the Patriots to grab their fifth win of the season.
Jordan Pynenberg was one of the standouts for the Little Chute wrestling team as he took third in the 285 lbs. bracket at last weekend’s Badger Scramble in Lake Geneva. The Mustangs had three top five finishes as they had 60 points in the invite.
