It would be hard to top Kaukauna’s 3-1 victory in the WIAA Division 2 regional championship held Satur-day night at KHS when the Kau-kauna girls defeated a pesky squad from Green Bay Southwest 3-1.
Kaukauna’s Scott Kluever and Kimberly’s Ben Engellend had hall of fame honors this year. Engellend was named to the UW-Stevens Point athletic hall of fame this month, while Kluever was named to the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association hall of fame.
The Kimberly girls volleyball team continued to show their depth as they punched their ticket to sectionals with a home regional final win over De Pere (25-15, 25-11, 25-17) last Saturday.
The Kimberly girls cross country team is headed to this week’s state meet after taking second at last week’s sectional in Stevens Point. The girls finished with 71 points, while the boys will send Gavin Salzmann and Cayden Vosters after the boys took third with 95 points.
With 309 total rushing yards, Kaukauna Dominated the Pulaski Red Raiders in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. With a final score of 45-13, Kaukauna completely dominated the second half of the game after only going into halftime with a score of 10-6.
The Kaukauna girls cross country team took third at last week’s Manitowoc Lincoln sectional on the Meadow Links golf course. The girls had 102 points, while the boys took ninth with 230 points.
Little Chute is sending nine runners to this year’s state cross country meet. The girls team won the Division 2 sectional meet in Kiel, while Ben Toeppler and Hayden Carroll will make the trip on the boys side this week.
