Schimke leads the way for Kaukauna track and field
Aaron Schimke continues to add top finishes in his running career. Schimke took third in the Manitowoc Invitational on Sept. 24. Schimke ran a 15:54.80 on the Meadow Links Golf Course.
Emily Kappus grabbed the lone match win for the Kaukauna Ghosts last week. Kappus won her match against Fond du Lac on Sept. 22 with a two set win over Ara Vanne (6-2, 6-3) in the No. 4 singles match.
Maya Wegand played a big part this week for the Little Chute volleyball team. The senior notched 20 kills and 13 digs in a Sept. 22 match against Clintonville before the team split action in a weekend tournament at Appleton East.
Kaitlin Schulz, Eva Johnson and Ava Rank continue to be big leaders for the Kimberly girls volleyball team. All three had key performances last week especially in weekend tournament play.
Kaukauna’s Owen Maas will be playing football at the college level. The senior recently announced on Sept. 11 that he will be playing his college football at Upper Iowa University.
The Kaukauna boys volleyball team is playing up to their potential so far this season. The Ghosts currently have 13 wins on the season with about a month of play left in the regular season.

The Kimberly defense stepped up allowing zero points in the second half of their 42-13 win over Appleton East.

The Kimberly defense stepped up in the second half as they flipped momentum to help the Papermakers get a win over Appleton East on Friday night. The defense made big plays including a Jack Statz pick six to help Kimberly score 21 unanswered points in a 42-13 win on the road.
The Kaukauna boys soccer team split their action as they grabbed two wins last week. The action included a split at home in their own tournament on Sept. 17.
The Kaukauna girls cross country team finished second in the Smiley Invitational on Sept. 17. The Ghosts grabbed 70 total points including a fifth place run of 19:45.5 from Sydney Fauske in the event.
