Despite a tough week, Little Chute softball coach Travis Pfrang is still proud of his team as they continue to learn how to compete at a high level this season. The offense has been high scoring despite a 1-12 start to the season.
Sophie Hermus and Nevaeh Honick provided some offense last week for the Kimberly softball team. Hermus had two separate two hit performances, while Honick provided a key home run against Oshkosh North.
After a pitching duel against Kimberly, the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts baseball team bounced back with some big offensive performances against Bay Port, Appleton East and West Bend East last week.
“After that. We really turned it on,” head coach Mike Jenkins said.
The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls soccer team is looking for some improvement as they head into a tough stretch against top opponents in the state. The Ghosts are sitting at 3-3-3 after two wins over Hortonville and Howards Grove last week.
The Kimberly girls soccer team has just been dominant this season. Not only is the team on an eight match winning streak, but they have only allowed three goals this season with one goal allowed in their last seven games.
The Little Chute Mustangs baseball team silenced the Wrightstown Tigers last week with a pair of shutouts against their conference rivals. The Mustangs improved to 9-2 after two 3-0 wins against the Tigers.
Haley Stannard and Alejandro Pagan-Vega made their mark on the Gil Frank invite last week for the Kimberly Papermakers. Pagan-Vega took first in two events for the Papermakers, while Stannard took first in the long jump and helped the relay teams post top finishes in the meet.
Cal Van Rossum was Little Chute’s winner in the Gil Frank invite last week. Van Rossum won the high jump with a leap of 6-2, while Cooper Effa had a fifth place jump of 5-10 in the event.
Brady Koester and Sawyer Deering delivered two big pitching performances last week for the Kimberly Papermakers baseball team. Both struck out nine in shut out wins for the team before the team’s undefeated start to the season ended with a loss to Neenah.
