OSHKOSH - The Kimberly boys lacrosse team got their first season of varsity play off to a good start last week. The Papermakers earned their first win of the season in a 17-1 win over Oak Creek at the Dome in Oshkosh last Saturday.
Campbell Roberts and Haley Stannard headlined the first week for the Kimberly girls track and field team. Roberts took first in the pole vault, while Stannard took second in the long jump for the Papermakers.
RIPON – Senior Sierra Hoffman had three of Little Chute’s seven first place finishes as they ran their first indoor meet last week at Ripon College. Hoffman had first place finishes in the long jump as well as the 60 and 200 meter dash.
A father and son pairing will highlight this year’s Holy Cross Men’s Open basketball tournament. Kon Knueppel and his son will play for The Unintentional during the tournament that starts this week.
After a sectional playoff appearance this season, Kaukauna junior Keegan Van Kauwenberg along with head coach Mike Schalow are getting our two biggest postseason basketball honors.
Following another sectional playoff run this season, Kate McGinnis wins our all-area player of the year award for girls basketball, while head coach Dave Lepisto earns his second coach of the year award.
Cooper Effa, Ben Toeppler and Ronald Gomm provided top finishes for the Little Chute track and field team last week as the Mustangs ran indoor meets at both Ripon College and UW-Oshkosh.
Logan Salzmann, Alex Reichen-berger and Alejandro Pagan-Vega got the Kimberly boys track and field season off to a good start as the team competed at UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stevens Point last week.
Wil Krautkramer hopes to have his Kaukauna girls soccer program chasing the win this season. The former Neenah head coach hopes to build a solid culture in year one of coaching the Galloping Ghosts.
