Kimberly soccer falls in shoot out in regional final match with Bay Port

The Kimberly Papermakers soccer team came up on the losing side of a thrilling match last weekend. Kimberly and Bay Port battled it out for 100 minutes before the Pirates edged the Papermakers out in a shoot out to earn the regional title at the pitch at JRG Middle School.

The Kimberly athletic program added on another conference championship last week. The Kimberly baseball team added another conference trophy to the case as the baseball team added to the school’s titles this school year.

Senior Riley Huss headlined the regional finishes for the Little Chute track and field team. Huss had three first place finishes, while all the relay teams are also headed to the sectional meet.

Kimberly track teams win Appleton North Regional

Kimberly’s track and field teams both scored first place finishes last week in the regional meet held at Appleton North High School. Both teams scored 179 points, while Kaukauna’s girls team had 144 and their boys team had 128.

Huss headed back to state track meet in three events

Riley Huss is headed back to state again as a senior on the Little Chute track and field team. Huss took first in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.60, and had a second place finish in the 3200 meter run of 9:49.05 and a third place finish in the 1600 meter run of 4:29.09.

Kimberly boys track takes first, Kaukauna girls takes first in sectional meet

Four area athletes will be participating in more than one event in the state meet in La Crosse next week. Kaukauna’s Alexa Kinas and Emma Sippel as well as Kimberly’s Ben Youngworth and Kamin Cabana made it to state in at least two events during last week’s sectional meet.
