Despite the results not being what the Kimberly softball team wanted, head coach Chad Mix was pleased with how his team played last week against tough competition.
Summer Schmidt and Chloe Herzfeldt are starting to bring more to the Kaukauna softball offense. Herzfeldt ended the week by batting leadoff for the Ghosts, while Schmidt added a three hit performance against Neenah.
The conference race is heating up for the Little Chute baseball team this week as the Mustangs will battle it out this week with their conference rivals from Wrightstown with the conference title on the line.
Taron Seghers continued his welcoming start to the Kaukauna baseball lineup. Seghers provided a walk-off home run in last week’s action against Appleton West.
Kimberly alum and UW-White-water sophomore Josie Hammen became the first WIAC softball pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the NCAA regionals last week. Hammen became the first Warhawk to accomplish the feat in a game since Bella Matthias threw two during the 2017 season.
The Little Chute boys track and field team secured a conference title three peat at last week’s conference championships in Marinette. The boys scored 155 points in the meet, while the girls finished second behind Freedom with 153 points.
Vada Sousek continues to step up as a freshman for the Kimberly girls soccer team. Sousek scored one of Kimberly’s two goals in their 2-1 win over Neenah last week.
Kaukauna alums Haylie Wittman and Skyler Calmes earned the automatic berth into the NCAA tournament after the UW-Oshkosh Titans softball team got two wins in the WIAC tournament in Whitewater last week.
